My journey to dog training

My journey into dog training began with a childhood experience. An encounter with an off-leash dog instilled fear and pain, leading me to understand the critical importance of responsible dog ownership and training. If that dog had been trained with calm, loving leadership and adhered to basic leash laws, my experience would have been vastly different. This pivotal moment, despite the fear, didn't diminish my love for dogs. In fact, it ignited a lifelong passion. As a child, I eagerly walked and sat for dogs, and in my early teens, I successfully worked on leash pulling with my own golden retriever, Perry.

This early experience blossomed into a deep love for working with animals, leading me to adopt and successfully train a deaf white boxer named Chase. Over the years, I've seen countless dogs in my community, including my sister's, struggle without structure, boundaries, and clear leadership. I've since worked with many dogs, addressing reactivity, teaching threshold boundaries, providing basic obedience training, and helping owners refine their handler skills for easier walks and better integration into the community with a well-behaved canine.

My unique approach to dog training

At RMP Canine, my training approach is built on a foundation of understanding and individualization. I take the time to truly get to know each dog's personality, looking beyond typical breed standards and what might appear as problematic behavior. My goal is to train each dog individually, communicating in ways that canines instinctively understand. This personalized approach extends to their owners as well. I dedicate time to clearly relaying what works best for their specific dog, ensuring they can continue the training effectively.

My commitment doesn't end with a training session. I believe in maintaining contact with my clients, offering ongoing support should any new issues arise or old habits resurface. For me, dog training is never a one-and-done interaction; each dog becomes like family, and their success is truly my happy place.

Our ultimate commitment to your dog

My unwavering commitment to every dog and owner I work with is paramount. Even if a dog's specific training needs fall outside my immediate expertise, I am dedicated to helping in every way possible. This includes assisting clients in finding the right resources, whether it's another trainer with specialized skills or appropriate tools to support their dog's development.

Ultimately, my core mission is to prevent dogs from being rehomed, dropped off at rescues, or facing euthanasia. Every dog deserves a chance to be a valued and well-behaved member of their family and community. I strive to empower owners with the knowledge and skills to achieve this, fostering lasting bonds and preventing heartbreaking outcomes.

"Robin P. has a genuine passion for dogs and a deep commitment to the people she works with. In my experience, I noticed a remarkable transformation in my dog after just one session. I now have a better understanding of him".
